It offers a lot of features, including support for layers. GIMP is a photo editor and software photo manipulation advanced often compared with Photoshop. Each brush has a control palette that opens when you select it. You can create a background layer and then create another layer for brushwork so that you can paint away without damaging your original background layer. Artweaver has layers, which makes experimentation easier. Many of the same tools that Photoshop and other graphic programs have are included in this Artweaver's toolbox, such as selection tools, move tools, color swatches, a paint bucket, and a clone stamp. If you upgrade to 2.8.14 (you can use the software update tool, 2.8.14 has been integrated already), then virtually all of it will be in Gaelic. If you are on Ubuntu and using the Gaelic version, a good proportion should automatically be in Gaelic already if you upgraded GIMP to 2.8.10: There’s a user guide in GIMP but by the the most extensive is online. Most of the interface has been translated but there are bits still in English and some of it unfortunately cannot be translated (not yet anyway).
